Each year, the General Assembly considers over 2,000 pieces of legislation, with just over 200 of those impacting the real estate industry in some manner.
In addition to our efforts on those bills, Maryland REALTORS® also develops a list of Priority Issues which we work to have introduced on behalf of our members. These have included licensing reforms, changes to brokerage laws and measures to increase homeownership opportunities.
Join Lisa May and Jacky Mueck for a discussion on the coming legislative session.

The 2026 legislative session REALTOR® Advocacy Agenda includes: housing supply and affordability; local zoning and permitting reform, common ownership community resale fees; brokerage relationship and disclosure amendments, and consumer protection measures.
