Each year, the General Assembly considers over 2,000 pieces of legislation, with just over 200 of those impacting the real estate industry in some manner.
In addition to our efforts on those bills, Maryland REALTORS® also develops a list of Priority Issues which we work to have introduced on behalf of our members. These have included licensing reforms, changes to brokerage laws and measures to increase homeownership opportunities.
The 2025 legislative session REALTOR® Advocacy Agenda includes: real estate brokerage, licensing, and contracts; housing supply and affordability; tax rates and credits; common ownership communities; and property management.
