During April 2018 – March 2019, foreign buyers purchased $78 billion of residential property in the U.S. The 2020 Commercial Real Estate International Business Trends reported $4.3 billion in commercial transactions with foreign clients in 2019 (among REALTORS® typically engaged in commercial transactions of less than $.5 million per transaction).
This fall, Maryland REALTORS® is focusing on this opportunity by offering a five-day course leading to designation as a Certified International Property Specialist (CIPS). As part of that course, we will also be offering a course entitled At Home With Diversity (AHWD). Attendees who complete the entire course will be eligible to receive the CIPS Designation, the AHWD Certification and 6.0 hours of Maryland Continuing Education (Course #955-1604; Category F, Professional Enhancement) for one registration price, so we are expecting a great turnout!
The course is designed to allow REALTOR® attendees to learn the critical aspects of international real estate transactions, share professional expertise and create new relationships across the world through the Global CIPS Network. CIPS designees have access to a worldwide community of real estate practitioners. Through this network, CIPS Designees may make and receive referrals globally, assist foreign-born persons to purchase a home or business in the U.S., and assist persons wishing to purchase a second home or a vacation home overseas.
Where do you fit into this picture? Hopefully front and center! Maryland REALTORS® will be marketing this program through multiple channels, including:
