Maryland REALTORS® Provides Guidance on the Governor's May 13 Announcement

Guidance on Governor’s May 13th Announcement relaxing some restriction

On May 13, 2020, Governor Hogan announced an easing of the stay-at-home order issued on March 30, 2020 effective at 5:00 pm on May 15, 2020.  

The current guidance on real estate practice in Maryland remains in effect for now.  

The Governor’s new order applies to:

• Public space (like parks, sports fields, etc)
• Certain retail businesses that were previously deemed non-essential
• Religious facilities
• Manufacturing
• Certain personal services (barber shops and beauty salons)

The May 13, 2020 Order permits these previously non-essential functions to open in a limited way, subject to approval and additional restriction by the Local Government.  These functions will still be required to abide by state and federal guidelines requiring social distancing and face masks.  

Maryland REALTORS® continues to communicate with the Governor’s office regarding the gradual easing of restrictions affecting our business, and members will be informed about new guidance issued by the State or Local governments.
