Part 1 - Critical Area Law

Learn what constitutes critical areas, the laws in place governing them, map usage in determining area, the definitions for various types of lot coverages, grandfathering and buffer modifications, expansions, variances; and, forest and woodland protection guidelines.

Part 2 – National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP), Flood Mapping and Insurance

Presenters – Kevin Wagner, MDE; David Guigent, MDE; Rich Sobota, FEMA; and, Joy Hatchette, MDIC

Get valuable insight on what the NFIP is and is not and why it’s an important conversation to have with your clients.  Understanding where flood zones are, what new changes may mean to buyers and sellers and where to access information on flood mapping will be discussed.  Hear important information on insurance options for your buyers and sellers.
