YOU CAN STOP NEW TAXES ON REAL ESTATE -- We STILL need your calls and emails TODAY – PHONECALLS especially! Tell your legislators to tell the Speaker and the Senate President to oppose the tax on REAL PROPERTY MANAGEMENT SERVICES proposed by the Governor. For more information and to take action, go to MAR Legislative Action Center and click on the take-action button. After sending your email, your confirmation identifies your specific legislators by name, so you know whom to ask for when calling 800.492.7122 (the General Assembly ).
- Remember to be polite and professional as you would be with your clients. Emphasize your serious concerns about the Governor’s proposal and the negative impact it will have on housing affordability and Maryland small businesses attributable to increased rents.
- P hone calls are especially effective—they show that you think this important enough to merit the extra effort.
- Become part of this statewide grassroots effort. Legislators are feeling the heat, but momentum is now critical. We must keep up the calls and we need your help.
- Made your call? Ask your colleagues to call as well. Let’s generate 35,000 calls to legislators—from all Maryland REALTORS®!
