New Real Estate Laws Taking Effect October 1st

The new laws taking effect in Maryland will impact lots of players in the Maryland real estate market, and include legislation like: HB 279 which gives new homebuyers additional flexbility taking mandated homebuyer education classes; HB 64 which directs appraiser management companies to pay real estate appraisers more quickly; HB 1257 requiring new language in Lease to Purchase Option agreements; SB 621 creating an easier process to remove illegal covenants from the land records and HOA documents; and HB 1107 imposing new rules for elevator inspections.  Click 2018 New Laws for a complete list of bills.
