March 16, 2020 Update on COVID-19 Business Impacts

  1. The Maryland General Assembly will adjorn the 2020 Legislative Session on Wednesday, March 18th and has scheduled a tentative special session for the last week of May. 
  2. The Maryland Land Title Association (MLTA) is reaching out to county recording offices to monitor how each jurisdiction is working on getting documents recorded in the land records. Please visit the MLTA website for the most current information.
  3. First American Title has issued guidance that they will insure transactions not eligible for e-filing under certain conditions. Read more here.
  4. Governor Hogan has temporarily prohibited evictions from taking place and utility providers from disconnecting services while Maryland remains in a state of emergency.
