.Realestate Domains Coming Soon

On Sept. 18 at 11:00 a.m. EDT, the National Association of REALTORS® (NAR) in partnership with Second Generation, Ltd., will launch the .realestate domain to individual REALTORS®, firms and boards of NAR and the Canadian Real Estate Association (CREA) for an exclusive 60-day pre-sale period. If you have a .realtor domain name, you get early access on the 18th. 





IRS Guidance Out on 20% Business Income Deduction

The Internal Revenue Service issued proposed regulations for a new provision allowing many owners of sole proprietorships, partnerships, trusts and S corporations to deduct 20 percent of their qualified business income. The new qualified business income deduction is available for tax years beginning after Dec. 31, 2017. Taxpayers can claim it for the first time on the 2018 federal income tax return they file next year.

Smoke Alarm Laws

Practical considerations for you and your clients. A seller who fails to comply with the law is subject to a fine, imprisonment, or both. A listing agent representing a seller who is in violation of the law must disclose to prospective buyers that the seller is not in compliance. If a buyer’s agent is aware that the seller is not in compliance with the law, the buyer’s agent must disclose this fact to his or her buyer client.
