**Please note: As of March 24, 2020, in response to Executive Orders issued by the Governor and consistent with guidance issued by the CDC, we have temporarily transitioned our Legal Hotline Services to an Online Only Submission System. Our entire Legal Department is working remotely to address the business needs and safety of our members and our staff. One of our Staff Attorneys will respond to your question by phone or in writing within two (2) business days.  Please be brief but include sufficient facts to allow us to provide a thorough, detailed response, so we can continue to serve you and our other members efficiently and without interruption during this period. The submission of a question through use of the form is recorded as a Legal Hotline call.  

The Maryland REALTORS® Legal Hotline is a member benefit. This means you must be a member of Maryland REALTORS® to utilize the Hotline.

Before submitting your question to the Maryland REALTORS® Legal Hotline email, you are advised to first speak with your manager or broker. If your manager or broker is unable to resolve the issue, take a few moments to review the Frequently Asked Questions page under the Legal Hotline tab to determine if your question has already been answered and posted on the Maryland REALTORS® website.

For members, free legal information is provided. This information should not be given to your client. If your client has a legal question, you are advised to direct your client to seek competent legal advice. Questions on all aspects of real estate law are answered including license law, agency, code of ethics, contracts, deposits, disclosures, ethics, fair housing, landlord tenant law, and procuring cause.
