Professional Standards
Code of Ethics
The Code of Ethics is the tie that binds all real estate professionals that call themselves REALTORS®. All REALTORS® pledge to abide by a strict code of professional conduct. This conduct is outlined in the National Association of REALTORS®' 2009 Code of Ethics and Standards of Practice . The Code contains 17 articles and is divided into three parts: Part One—Duties to Clients and Customers; Part Two—Duties to the Public; and Part Three—Duties to REALTORS®. Standards of Practice relating to the Code of Ethics clarify the ethical obligations imposed by the Code.
